Shrooq Shaheen achievments appeared in Aljazeera festival 2011

Shorooq Shahen, a media student at the Radio and Television Department in Qatar University submitted two documentaries to the 7th Aljazeera Documentary Film Festival:  "Lady of The Rosary" and "Me, in my Country". Both documentaries tackle issues pertaining to Qatari society: the first one is about the first church in Qatar and the biggest in the Middle East, while the second sheds light on how Qatari companies hire people based on their nationality and pay westerners more than native Qataris even if they lack the required experience.

With respect to her participation, Shorooq commented that she participated as a volunteer in the festival during the previous years. At that time, she wished to submit films of her own to the festival but now she expresses her gratitude for such an important festival which grants beginners the opportunity to feature their films and open new horizons for them.

It is worth mentioning that the "Lady of The Rosary" got the best documentary film award at Zayed University Festival 2010 and the first award at Abu Dhabi Cinema Festival and "Me, in my Country" won the jury award in Abu Dhabi Cinema Festival.
